Scar Assault Rifle - FN SCAR 16S Carbine Gets High Marks: The AR is one of my favorite rifles in my collection, so I decided to wait until I had a chance to fire the FN Scar 16S. Of course it is more expensive, but I can see why the US military wants to use it.
For starters, the best things about the FN SCAR 16S are the larger features. The fire selector and magazine release are large enough for me to easily use with gloves on, and the grips are very hot, which is why I recommend carrying them.

The good news is that after 100 rounds of testing, no matter how hot the magazine feed was, there was not a single malfunction, jam or problem. I also liked that the trigger guard was wide enough to accommodate gloves because they knew how hot it was going to be when they designed it.

All of those features are built in bias, but weren't available when I shot them. I will say that you can press the loading handle on the optic if you're not careful, but it wasn't my first time.
As for the test, I fell in love. I had a 2-in-1 spread at 100 yards, which didn't change at 300 or 400 yards, but I had to use the optic for those targets. Then I became aware of the charging handle.
What was remarkable was how easy it was to remove and clean the Scar, as I could do it in minutes. I was also able to adjust the folding rubbers and cheek rests for total comfort in my firing position, and they always passed that adjustment.
I didn't notice the .223 rounds, especially with the Scara brake. Weighing just over 7kg, the rifle was easy to handle. The 4 Picatinny rails allowed me to attach the holographic sight without any problems.

I also liked the gas piston exhaust system because it reduced gas emissions but reduced carbon build-up so I didn't have to clean it. It works with my AR magazines, but avoid using Gen II PMags as they will break your trail.
One thing I don't like about the SCAR is the price, because at $3,300 it's too high. If you can find lesser guns in a vein, it won't have the quality or durability that this rifle brings to the table. FN SCAR: Yes, value for money…
After 100 rounds through the range, it's no wonder military members love the FN Scar 16S Tactical Carbine. I personally like it as much or better than the AR, from handling to accuracy and processing control, so if you have the money, I can't recommend the Skin enough.

The SCAR has two receivers: the lower receiver is made of polymer, and the upper receiver is one-piece and made of aluminum. The SCAR features an integral, continuous Picatinny rail on top of the aluminum receiver, two detachable side rails, and a bottom bracket that can mount MIL-STD-1913 compliant accessories.
It has an M16 compatible polymer pistol grip lower receiver, a well flared magazine, and a raised area around the magazine and bolt release buttons. The front sight slides down for unobstructed access to optics and accessories. The rifle uses a "bottle" type of closed gas system like the M1 Carbine, the bolt carrier is otherwise similar to the Stoner 63 or Heckler & Koch G36.
In June 2011, SOCOM announced that it would not be fielding the Mk16 for special operations forces. Later that year, the Navy requested a five-year procurement of the Special Warfare Mk16.
