Scar Assault Rifle 7.62 - FN SCAR 16S Carbine Earns Its High Price: My AR is one of the favorite rifles in my collection, so I'll pass judgment on the FN Scar 16S until I get a chance to shoot it. It is definitely more expensive, but I have found a reason why special forces in the US military prefer to use it.
For starters, some of the best things about the FN SCAR 16S are the larger features. The fire selector and magazine release are big enough for me to use gloves on, and I recommend wearing them because the scar heats up quickly.

The good news is that, even after 100 rounds of testing, I had no misfires, tears, or issues with the magazine feed, no matter how hot it was. I also like that the bottle is big enough to fit in a glove, because they knew how hot it would get when they designed it.

All these features are made to be sharp, but not in the way when shooting. I say that if you are not careful, it can curse your finger with the optics of charging, but for me it is not a problem after the first time.
For test shooting, I fell in love. I have a 2" internal spread at 100 yards and it doesn't change much at 300 or 400 yards, even though I have to use the optic for those purposes. That's when I noticed the distance of the charger.
One thing that stands out is that the scar is easy to remove and clean, as I did it in just a few minutes. I could also adjust the folding stock and cheek rest quite comfortably in my female position, and they always did.
The .223 round had no recoil that I noticed, mostly due to the muzzle brake on the Scar. Between that and the fact that the gun is just over 7 pounds, it's easy to maneuver. The 4 picatinny rails allow me to place and hold the holographic sight without any problems.

I like the gas piston firing system because it reduces emissions but also reduces carbon build up so I don't have to clean as much. It works with my AR mags, but avoid using PMags Gen II because they kill your wounds.
One thing I don't like about the SCAR is the price, as $3,300 is pretty steep. While you can find similar guns for less, they won't have the same quality and durability. FN SCAR: Yes, it's worth it…
After 100 rounds, it's no wonder members of the military prefer the FN Scar 16S tactical carbine. Personally, I like this as much or more than my AR, from handling to accuracy to handling recoil, so if you have the money, I can't recommend the Scar enough.
